Marte Hoffiz explains qualification towards Italy and Poland

 

TIJUANA, Mexico, November 2, 2013 – The President of NORCECA Confederation opened the two-day sessions of the XXII NORCECA Congress presenting a report of the stage of the qualification process towards the FIVB 2014 World Championships to be held in Italy and Poland.

 

Cristóbal Marte Hoffiz informed about the massive participation of teams of women and men in the qualification tournaments from all the regions of NORCECA.

 

In 2012, a total of 16 tournaments –eight of men and 8 of women- were celebrated continuing with 12 events –six per gender- in 2013.

 

“It has been a long journey but now we are on the verge of celebrating the final phase of our tournaments with the winners booking tickets to Italy (women) and Poland (men),” Marte Hoffiz said during his summary. “The final part of that process includes two final playoffs for the last spots towards the world championships.”

 

Nelson Ramirez, director of the FIVB Regional Development Center in Dominican Republic, reported on the courses and seminars held in the past two years in the headquarters of the center in Santo Domingo and different countries throughout the continent.

 

The representatives of the different commissions –Legal, Development, VIS and Statistics, Media, Medical, Coaches, Refereeing, Finances, Beach Volleyball and Sport Organization- presented complete and detailed reports of activities of 2012-13.
