Martinique finishes 7th at U21 event

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, December 11, 2015 - Martinique captured the 7th at the 10th CAZOVA Junior championships today at the Wildey Gymnasium in a marathon five sets win over Aruba.

Rony Dinal starred for the French team with 29 points as Martinique ended Aruba's campaign without a victory 25-27, 24-26, 23-25, 25-19, 15-12.  Boris Agesilas gave Dinal great support with 19 points in a match which lasted one hour and 41 minutes.

Aruba had looked like sure winners after taking a two sets advantage with their trio of Ronald Hofstee, Dwayne Angela and Darvick Anthony leading the way with 15, 11 and 10 points respectively.  But Martinique's superior spiking spiking pulled the game back to leave Aruba in the cellar spot.

Aruba's coach De Medina Robles was full of praise for his team which he believe played with a lot of heart in spite of their limited experience.

Brewer Yoann of Martinique was pleased with his boys' victory.  "We wanted to reach the medal round but the competition has been very high at this tournament so we are happy to have achieved this win at the end," said Yoann.
