Puerto Ricans outlast Mexico's women first team 

CHIAPAS, Mexico, May 15, 2010 – The Puerto Rican pair of Yarleen Santiago and Dariam Acevedo eliminated Mexicans Marta Revueltas/Vanessa Virgen by defeating the local girls 2-1 (21-9, 21-18) during Day One of the NORCECA Circuit’s fifth leg.

Even tough the competition started under heavy rain, the action kicked-off in Puerto Arista, Chiapas, with the first match between Canada 1 (Jamie Broter/Elizabeth Cordonier) and México 2 (Xitlali Heco/Rosario Reyes) ending with a victory for the Cannucks by score of 2-1 ( 21/19, 16/21 y 15/13).

Another surprise was the victory of Costa Rica’s pair (Ingrid Morales/Natalia Alfaro) who defeated United States (Michelle Moriarty/Dana Kabashima) in three sets ( 21/15, 19/21 y 15/10).

Among the main matches for Saturday we have MEX 2 vs. CAN 2 and USA vs. PUR.
