Seventh place goes to Trinidad and Tobago

TIJUANA, Mexico, May 5, 2012 – Trinidad and Tobago defeated Honduras in straight sets (25-10, 25-15, 25-23) in the match of seventh place of the NORCECA Women’s Olympic Qualification tournament on Saturday.

Abigail Gloud and Krystle Esdelle had 15 and 10 points respectively for the winners while Renele Forde and Delana Mitchell charted 8 apiece.  Honduras’ Catarine Leiva collected five points.

“The Honduras team played much better in the third set and forced us to get back into focus and counter attack,” Trinidad and Tobago’s Coach Francisco Cruz said.

“We were able to do better today especially in the third set when we passed and combined well,” Honduras’ Coach Matt Winkler said. “It has been a privilege for us to take part in this competition and it was a learning experience.”
