Vikings and G.C. Foster crowned in Jamaica

KINGSTON, Jamaica, May 22, 2012 - Vikings Volleyball Club are once again Champions of another JaVA Club Competition after winning the "Weekend Warrior series at the JaVA Volleyball facility at the National Stadium.

Inspired by the motivational leadership of their Captain, Dellan Brown, Vikings came from behind twice to take the J$20,000.00 cash prize and 2012 title in five sets over Venus (21-25, 25-22, 18-25, 25-23, 15-11).

In earlier semifinal action Venus defeated JDF 27-25, 25-13 and 25-20 and Vikings survived and ambush by Titans to come away 13-25, 23-25, 25-19, 25-10, 15-13 victors

On the other hand, a vastly improved G.C. Foster female team was too much for the other teams in the division to handle. G.C. Foster took the final with a rootless 25-20, 25-23, 25-15 straight sets victory over MOSA.

Earlier in semifinal action, G.C. Foster got the better of the defending League Champions, Venus 25-23, 25-19, 22-25, 25-22, while MOSA made light work of Viqueens 25-18, 25-23, 25-20.

The teams were playing for a purse of J$40,000.00 as well as equipment donated by NORCECA Volleyball Confederation.
