Mets need one victory to claim the title in PR
GUAYNABO, Puerto Rico, January 3, 2014 – The Guaynabo Mets are
one victory away from the title in the Puerto Rican Men’s
Volleyball Superior League following their third win on Sunday
over the Arecibo Captains.
Pablo Guzman scored 18 points to lead the 25-21, 25-21, 25-21
victory while Jackson Rivera and Jean Carlos Ortiz contributed
13 and 11 points, respectively.
Erick Haddock toped the defeated side with 15 points, followed
by Hector Soto with 13 and Nestor Bracero with 12.
Guaynabo shows a perfect record in the post season after going
4-0 in the quarterfinals with two victories over each Arecibo
and Lares and sweeping Corozal in four straight matches in the
semifinals.
Guzman and Rivera registered 22 and 20 points, respectively, to
lead the 25-19, 26-24, 23-25, 25-15 in the third match of the
finals.
The fourth match of the best-of-seven Great Kia Final Series is
scheduled on Thursday at Petaca Iquina Coliseum of Arecibo. |
