Mexico defeats Guatemala at Chichi Mazara Cup

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, June 30, 2018 – Mexico defeated Guatemala in straight sets 3-0 (25-18, 29-27, 25-9) in day two of the Horacio –Chichi- Mazara Invitational Men’s Volleyball Cup in Santo Domingo.

It was the second victory in as many days for the Mexican squad that one day earlier scored a 3-0 win over Chile.

Alejandro Moreno and Daniel Vargas led the scoring for the Mexican squad with 16 and 13 points, respectively.

Carlos Lopez finished with 10 points for Guatemala and Nery Flores added 9 points in the losing cause-

Mexico held a huge advantage in attacks 42-24 and also in aces 8-2 with Jorge Barajas landing three service winnes.
