Mexico edges Brazil in friendly match
SAQUAREMA, Brazil, April 2, 2013 – The U-19 Mexico’s Boys
National Team claimed an encouraging victory over Brazil 3-1
(22-25, 25-16, 27-25, 25-18) as both teams continue with their
preparation towards the FIVB World Championship to be held in
Tijuana and Mexicali from June 27 to July 7.
It was the first victory of Mexico against the national youth
team of Brazil following losses in the two previous matches.
The Mexican team has been training at the Saquarema High
Performance Center of Brazilian Volleyball Confederation (CBV)
since March 24.
“It is a big day for our team with this win against a monster
like Brazil,” said Ariel Acosta, one of the members of the team
coached by Oscar Licea. "We
made it clear that this
is not just any
team".
“I feel really proud to be part of this U-19 team,” added
Acosta, who last September was one of the leading blockers at
the U-23 Pan American Cup in Langley, Canada. |
