Mexico finishes in seventh place

 

SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, August 2, 2014 – Mexico defeated Honduras in straight sets 25-17, 25-15, 25-20 in the match for seventh place of the NORCECA Men’s U21 Continental Championship being played at Palacio de los Deportes of San Salvador.

 

It was an overwhelming victory for the Mexicans who outscored their opponents in all the skills. They held a big margin in attacks 44-23 and also led in blocks 7-4 and service winners 3-0. They gave away 25 points with unforced errors while Honduras totaled 21.

 

Alan Martinez and Enrique Ugalde were the leaders of the winning attack with 11 points apiece. Ivan Molano also finished with double figures with 10 and Luis Bojorquez chipped in with 8 points.

 

William Thompson topped the defeated side with 11 points and Mario Reyes finished with seven in the losing effort.
