NCVA advocates for a balanced hosting system

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, May 21, 2015 – The North Central Volleyball Association (NCVA) concluded its general assembly in Santo Domingo advocating for a strict rotation system to host the main competitions organized by the NORCECA Confederation.

The zonal body is composed by the biggest countries of the confederation with Canada, United States and Mexico from North America and Cuba, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico from the Greater Antilles.

The representatives of those countries are in favor of a competition calendar designed to avoid more than two competitions in one country in the same year.

In that respect, they all agreed that for the Pan American Cups –qualifying events to the FIVB World Grand Prix and World League- it is necessary to involve more countries from South America as hosting nations.

They were informed that NORCECA is currently in conversations with the Argentinean Volleyball Federation to host the Women’s Pan American Cup next year.

Among other topics during the meeting they discussed and analyzed the marketing situation at both local and continental level and development and expansion of volleyball and beach volleyball in their countries.
