NORCECA Beach Circuit to visit Toluca for second time
MEXICO CITY, Mexico, May 26, 2013 - The Norceca VII
International Beach Volleyball Circuit will be presented on
Monday at the Mexican National Sports Commission (CONADE)
This will be the fourth stop of the tour on the year and will be
played in the city of Toluca for the second time.
The competition is scheduled from June 7 to 9 at the State of
Mexico University Sports Complex at San Antonio Buenaventura.
The announcement will be made jointly by the Sports Quality
Director of Conade, Othon Diaz Valenzuela as well as State of
Mexico Sports Institute Director, the former Olympic diver and
medalist, Fernando Platas, and the Mexican Volleyball Federation
President, Jesus Perales Navarro.
Couples from a total of 16 countries in both genders are
expected to play at this tournament that in 2012 set a new
record with 19 men’s couples. In that same edition, Mexico
claimed the gold medals in both men’s and women’s finals with
Juan Virgen and Lombardo Ontiveros and Bibiana Candelas and
Mayra Garcia (now retired).
The second place in the women’s tournament was also for Mexico
with Vanessa Virgen and Martha Revuelta who is now part of the
number 1 national couple along with Candelas.
