NORCECA and Molten donate 450 balls to Dominican Federation

 

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, January 30, 2018 – The North, Central American and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation (NORCECA) and Molten Corporation donated more than 450 balls to the Dominican Republic Federation to be used in the volleyball and beach volleyball competitions as well as for the promotion of the sport in the country.

 

The massive donation was made by NORCECA President, Cristóbal Marte Hoffiz to Victor Gil, acting president of the Dominican Federation. “We have increased the amount of the donation,” said Marte Hoffiz, pointing out that the value of the equipment at $799, 212.50 Dominican pesos.

 

He said the Dominican Republic will become the first country in the world getting to utilize the new beach volleyball Molten BV-500 that by coincidence shows the colors blue, red and white also present in the Dominican flag.

 

“We hope the different associations continue to work and produce talented athletes to the national pre-selections in the different categories,” he said.

 

Marte Hoffiz said the donation forms part of the social responsibility of NORCECA alongside Molten, which will be the official ball for the upcoming Central American and Caribbean Game in Barranquilla, Colombia to take place next July.

 

The donation, in collaboration with Molten, consists of 300 balls for indoor volleyball, 100 for mini-volley and 50 for beach volleyball,” Marte Hoffiz added.

 

Gil, former player of the national team, thanked NORCECA and Molten executives for the donation of the balls for the promotion of national volleyball.

 

“These balls will go to the directors of our 32 provincial associations affiliated to our federation and we are sure they will make a correct use of the equipment,” Gil said.

 

The agreement was signed by Gil and Arateide Caceres, director of national federations of NORCECA.
