NORCECA continues to aid in Volleyball development in St. Maarten

 

SINT MARTEEN, February 21, 2017 - NORCECA Volleyball Confederation continues on its mission of improving volleyball within its member territories, by recently giving the St. Maarten Volleyball Association (SIMVA) a new indoor court. 

 

This new facility will, by extension, aid in the development of Volleyball and all indoor sports on the island.  This new court has been installed at the L.B. Scott Auditorium by SIMVA. 

 

The official handing over ceremony occurred on Wednesday 15th February, 2017.  Present were Minister of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports, Silveria Jacobs, SIMVA President Raymond Jacobs and other sports officials. 

 

Sports Minister Jacobs and SIMVA President Jacobs expressed their gratitude to NORCECA, the Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association, President Glen Quinlan (ECVA) and President Cristobal Marte Hoffiz (NORCECA) for their efforts in securing the court for the island. 

 

Minister Jacobs and president Jacobs were also of the view that this facility will aid in the further growth in the sport of Volleyball on the island.
