NORCECA donates playing surface to Honduras
TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras, April 23, 2014 – A new volleyball
synthetic floor donated by NORCECA Confederation has been
installed at the National Olympic Village by the Honduran
Volleyball Federation.
It is the second Sport Court floor received by the local
federation under the development program of NORCECA.
“We are so grateful to NORCECA for its assistance in the form of
this donation which will play an important role in the
development of our players who will benefit of better conditions
for the practice of the sport,” Felix Sabio, president of the
Honduran Federation said.
“The special synthetic Sport Court, our official flooring for
all NORCECA competitions, lessens the risk of injury by reducing
the stress to knees and ankles,” Cristobal Marte Hoffiz,
president of NORCECA reacted from Santo Domingo. “That’s why we
emphasize on providing excellent surfaces for more comfortable
conditions to practice and play in all our countries.”
Andrew Gettig, Vice President of International Sales for Sport
Court, also commented about the new playing surface and the
impact to be generated in the development of volleyball in
Honduras.
“We are thrilled to see this happening,” Gettig said from United
States. “Congratulations to NORCECA for another enduring
donation that will have a positive and lasting impact on the
sport of volleyball and generations of players.”

Confederation is now in its sixth year and so far the following

have been beneficiary of it:
Nicaragua, Jamaica, Guatemala, Cuba, U.S. Virgin Islands,
Anguilla, Antigua, Panama, St Lucia, St Kitts & Nevis,
Montserrat, Honduras, Puerto Rico, Belize, French St Martin, El
Salvador, British Virgin Islands, Grenada, Barbados, Turks &
Caicos, Guadeloupe, Mexico, Costa Rica, Haiti, Curacao,
Martinique, Dominica, Trinidad & Tobago and Suriname.
