NORCECA preparing for Barranquilla

BARRANQUILLA, Colombia, July 18, 2018 - Members of the NORCECA control committee have celebrated several meetings and inspections in preparation for the Barranquilla 2018 XXIII Central American and Caribbean Games.

All the technical details are under the supervision NORCECA President and FIVB First Vice-President, Cristóbal Marte Hoffiz, with collaboration of NORCECA delegates who arrived on Tuesday.

NORCECA is organizing four competitions, starting off with the women’s volleyball tournament on Friday; “our Confederation has the necessary experience and know how to make a successful four tournament-event” indicated Cristobal Marte, who has held several working sessions with the Organizing Committee “COBAR”.

Being a multisport event, NORCECA’s inspections have been very complex, in order to refine every single detail at the Humberto Perea Coliseum, venue constructed specifically for volleyball.

Ariel Sainz, NORCECA competition Director, presented a preliminary report alongside the local Technical Director José Polchlopek, explaining significant progress at the competition hall.

Also, Judith Sandino VIS NORCECA Delegate, has conducted a three-day workshop to fourteen volunteers (volleyball players) since Sunday, who will be collecting all the necessary data for the statistical information for both women and men volleyball tournaments.

The referee, press and info-technology commissions also held their respective inspections with the local delegates, checking that every need for the competition kick off.
