National Beach Volleyball Coaches Course in Dominican Republic  

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, March 24, 2017 – The NORCECA/FIVB Regional Development Center in the Dominican Republic and the Dominican Volleyball Federation inaugurated a National Course of Beach Volleyball Coaches Level II with 40 participants from different provinces of the country.

The event is sponsored by NORCECA Confederation presided over by Cristobal Marte Hoffiz and the Ministry of Sports of the Dominican Republic under the leadership of Danilo Diaz.

The opening ceremony was attended by Luis Mejia Oviedo, president of the Olympic Committee, Amos Anglade, member of the executive committee of the Dominican Volleyball Federation in charge of the program of national teams of beach volleyball, Angel Rivas, vice president of the Dominican Federation and Nelson Ramirez, director of the Development Center.

Anglade welcomed the participants and encouraged them to continue working in favor of the development and growth of beach volleyball everywhere in the Dominican Republic as he commented the position of the discipline as one of the most important in the world.

Mejia mentioned the big contribution that continues making the Volleyball Development Center in training all the actors in volleyball both nationally and internationally which positions the entity as one of the best organizations of FIVB around the world.

The course of four days began on Thursday with the sessions extending until Sunday. Carlos Moreno of Cuba is the instructor with Dominican player William Sánchez serving as model in the practical sessions.
