Netherlands are 7-2 after victory over Canada

RIMINI, Italy, June 8, 2021 – Netherlands swept Canada to improve their win-loss record at 7-2 at the FIVB Women’s Volleyball Nations League after completing three rounds of play in the 16-team competition.

The European side, currently ranked 6th in the world, beat the No. 15 North Americans by scores of 3-0 (25-19, 25-12, 25-21). The Cannucks fell to 2-7.

The Dutch squad led in attacks 44-33 and also in blocks 12-4 and serves 4-2. The winning side collected 15 points from opponents’ errors while giving away 13.

Anne Buijs led Netherlands with 15 points, including three blocks and one ace, and Juliet Lohuis contributed 12 points in the victory. Eline Timmermann had four blocks among her 10 points.

Hillary Howe and Andrea Mitrovic finished as the top Canadian scorers with 9 and 8 points, respectively.
