TOKYO, Japan, August 7, 2021 – Norway’s Anders
Mol and Christian Sorum are the champions of
men’s beach volleyball in Tokyo 2020 Olympic
Games.
Mol and Sorum were crowned after defeating
Russia’s Viacheslav Krasilnikov and Oleg
Stoyanovskiy 2-0 (21-17, 21-18) in the match for
the gold medal on Saturday.
The bronze medal went to Qatar’s Cherif Yonousse
and Ahmed Tijan Janko who defeated Latvia’s
Martins Plavins and Edgars Tocs 2-0 (21-12,
21-18).
In the women’s division the gold went to USA’s
April Ross and Alix Klineman who defeated
Australians Mariafe Artacho and Taliqua Clancy
2-0 (21-15, 21-16).
Switzerland’s Anouk Verge-Depre and Joanna
Heidrich won the bronze with a 2-0 (21-19,
21-15) over Latvia’s Tina Graudina and
Anastasija Kravcenoka. |
