Dominica place 3rd at ECVA finals with repeat victory over St.
Kitts/Nevis
St. Johns, Antigua, November 25, 2012 - A repeat fixture to
determine 3rd place between Dominica and St. Kitts/Nevis was won
by Dominica by the same score margin that they did in the group
stage - 3-1 (21-25; 25 -20; 25-17 and 25 14).
Coach Albert Loblack was not quite happy though. "This was a
face saving victory as we really expected to go all the way to
the finals and so the girls dug deep and overcame a really good
St. Kitts/Nevis team," he intimated.
Coach Steadroy Collins of St. Kitts/Nevis accepted defeat
graciously. "We gave it our best shot but came up short. We will
have to continue our focus on grassroots and youth development
when we return home," he said.
Captain Antoinette Henry admitted that they were outplayed.
"Right now I am feeling a bit sad because of the defeat but I
know we did a great job however Dominica seemed as if they
wanted it more than us. We will take a short break then
continue our training programmes upon our return," she revealed.
