Mexicans leads Norceca Maeva after first matches

 

MANZANILLO, Colima. October 1, 2010 – Mexico’s leading pairs of Aldo Miramontes-Juan Virgen in men’s, and Martha Revuelta-Xitlally Herrera in women’s, were brilliant in the first day at Maeva NORCECA 2010 with victories over Canada 2 and Cuba respectively, directly qualifying to the quarterfinals of the tournament.

 

Aldo Miramontes and Juan Virgen won against Canada 2 (Maverick Hatch-Jessi Lelliot) this Friday night, 21-13/21-14, and this Saturday they will run against Canada 1 (Josh Binstock-Andrew Hinchey) in the quarterfinals.

 

Mexico 1 in women´s (Martha Revuelta-Xitlally Herrera) defeated Cuba´s Nirian Sinal-Kirenia Ballard in a great game played in three sets, 24-22/17-21/15-5. Today, they will play against Canada 2 (Tammy Thomas-Kristina Vlcek) in the quarter finals.

 

In women´s, Mexico 2 (Vanessa Virgen-Rosario Reyes) defeated Mexico 4 (Gabriela Chavez-Mara Gamez) with not much complication, 21-8/21-13.

 

Canada 2, Tammy Thomas-Kristina Vlcek, defeated Mexico 3 (Natalia Sanchez-Gabriela Valencia) in an exciting game, 21-13/21-19.

 

Canada 1 (Kacie Mac Tavish-Kristini Valjas) defeated Guatemala (Maria Jose Orellana-Anna Ramirez) in a great game played in three episodes, 21-18/17-21/15-7.

 

In Men´s, Cuba´s Yoendry Kindelan-Sergio González defeated Mexico 4 (Jorge Barajas-Valdemar Valdes) in two sets, 21-14/21-9.

 

In the second men´s game played at Maeva Stadium this Friday, Canada 1 (Josh Binstock-Andrew Hinchey) beat Guatemala (Erick Garrido-Andy Leonardo), in a very intense game, 21-17/17-21/15-10.

 

Another great match in men´s competition was the victory of Puerto Rico (Roberto Rodríguez-Orlando Irizarry) over Mexico 5 (Marco Macías-Juan Revuelta), in two sets, 21-15/27-25.
