Organizers and Control Committee held joint working meeting in Lima

LIMA, Peru, September 17, 2016 – The Organizing Committee of the U23 Women’s Volleyball Pan American Cup and the members of the Control Committee from the Pan American Volleyball Union held a joint meeting on Saturday afternoon ahead of the start of the competition on Monday.

Mr. Luis Linares, president of the Peruvian Volleyball Federation and the Organizing Committee, and Mr. Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, Vice President of UPV, chaired the meeting held at the presidential suite of Los Delfines Hotel in Lima.

The representatives worked on the agenda covering the day before and the day after the event whose preliminary phase will take place at Manuel Bonilla Coliseum of Lima from September 19 to 23 and the semifinal and final rounds to be held at El Cañete Coliseum on September 24-25.

The top two ranked teams from the NORCECA Confederation and the top ranked team from South America will earn spots for next year’s FIVB World Championship to be held in the cities of Ljubljana and Maribor, Slovenia.

Mr. Omelio Castillo and Mr. Darío Rocha presented a positive report on the current conditions and facilities of the competition venue in Lima and will visit Cañete for a final inspection to the other venue next Thursday.

The preliminary enquiries and general technical meeting will be conducted on Sunday with the teams represented by managers, coaches and medical staff.
