Organizing Committee of U19 Pan Am Cup meets in Santo Domingo

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, March 29, 2019 – The Organizing Committee of the U19 Boys’ Pan American Cup held a first meeting to analyze the most important areas of the event scheduled to take place in Santo Domingo from April 22 to 29.

The meeting, chaired by Dr. Milton Ray Guevara as president of the OC, was attended by NORCECA president Cristóbal Marte Hoffiz and Alexis García, president of the Dominican Volleyball Federation.

After an introduction of the characteristics of the competition and the different departments, a general budget was presented and discussed.

The members of the OC, Angel Rivas, Nelson Ramírez, Milagros Cabral and Arateide Cáceres commented on the potential private and public sponsors in order to cover the budget.

A visit to the Albergue Olímpico was programmed in order to check the lodging facilities as well as the food services for the participating teams.

A second meeting was scheduled on April 3 where all the staff in charge of the different working areas will be introduced.

Dr. Guevara, who is the president of the Constitutional Tribunal of the Dominican Republic and avid follower of volleyball and other sports, is very enthusiastic and optimistic of a successful event in Santo Domingo.
