PASO President informed about NORCECA Development

 

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, December 7, 2017 – Chile’s Neven Ilic, president of the Pan American Sport Organization (PASO) received detailed information regarding the development activity of NORCECA and South American Volleyball entities.

 

Mr. Ilic, recently elected as member of the International Olympic Committee, paid a 36-hour visit to Dominican Republic where he met with local sport authorities.

 

Nelson Ramírez, director of NORCECA Development Center in Dominican Republic, informed Ilic about the development plan of NORCECA focused on National Federations category I and II.

 

Ramírez, who is also member of the executive board of the Dominican Republic Olympic Committee said Ilic was positively impressed by the program being implemented.

 

Ramírez also explained Ilic about the new policy of FIVB regarding its development centers located in different regions of the world and commented about the intense activity carried out by the center under his direction for the past 20 years.

 

He also visited the facilities of the recently opened Albergue Olímpico located in Santo Domingo praising the housing, training areas and the rest of the rooms for the comfort of athletes and teams lodged in there.

 

Ilic said the geographical location of Dominican Republic, its weather and many other positive qualities convert the country in the ideal one to receive training delegations from all over the world.
