The combativeness of Honduras was not enough to take the side of the hosts, who had in their captain Denzel Arboine and David NG their best performers with 29 and 13 points, respectively.

Jorge Santos and Rufo Paredes with eight units were the top scorers for Honduras who yielded 45 points for errors by 23 of their opponents, and was outscored 54-23 in attacks, 14-2 in services, although they were better in blocks 8-7.

Eugenio Ortiz, coach of Panama, said that "the boys got tired enough, they injured one that is a fundamental plug and the rest of the people began to go down. Tomorrow we have to get into everything, we will try to recover the team and see what happens".
