The host team scored 38 points in attack against 7 of the Guatemalans. Peru also got 10 points in blocking and 11 in service. The unforced errors were similar, 17 the winner and 16 the loser.

Leslie Leyva led in Peru with 9 attack points, one block and one ace.

Coach of Peru, Francisco Hervás: Although the opponent did not represent much level of difficulty, our job was to maintain the rhythm of the game and that goal was reached. Today I had the opportunity to play the whole team and they responded very well.

Coach of Guatemala, Aldana Pérez: The first match is always difficult, but the girls have come to face that degree of difficulty and today's learning is very important for the growth process that we want.

Guatemala should recover quickly from today's defeat, to face its next rival, the Dominican Republic. On the other hand, Peru will fight to add its second triumph when it stars in the South American classic against Argentina.
