TOKYO, Japan, August 1, 2021 – Poland beat
Canada in straight sets 3-0 (25-15, 25-21,
25-16) in the last day of the preliminary round
of the men’s volleyball tournament at Tokyo 2020
Olympic Games on Sunday.
Poland finished atop of Pool A with a 4-1
record, the same as Italy but with 13-10
difference in points. Canada ended at 2-3 with
7-6 margin over Iran (also 2-3).
Bartosz Kurek and Wilfredo Leon topped the
scoring of Poland with 17 and 16 points,
respectively. Nicholas Hoag was the best scorer
for Canada with 9 points.
Poland led in blocks 13-4 with Kurek leading the
way with five blocks, and Leon finished with 5
aces as Poland led in service winners 7-4. |
