Ponce and Caguas undefeated in Puerto Rican Women’s League

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, February 7, 2017 – Leonas of Ponce and Criollas of Caguas have kept their dominant pace shown in past tournaments and both are the only undefeated teams after two weeks of actions in the Women’s Volleyball Superior League of Puerto Rico.

Ponce has obtained 14 of the maximun15 points possible en route to a 5-0 win-loss record while the three-time champion Caguas has 12 points from their 4-0 mark.

One of the most relevant facts occurred in the first two weeks is the performance of Valencianas de Juncos who have a 4-1 record surpassing the total of victories attained last season. The team of Juncos has achieved those results despite the loss, at the moment, of attacker Yarimar Rosa.

Orientales of Humacao are currently in fourth place with a 3-2 record and 8 points, followed by debutants Polluelas de Aibonito and Indias of Mayaguez in fifth position with a 2-2 balance and 6 points.

Changas of Naranjito (0-4) and Capitalinas of San Juan (0-5) both have 1 point while Gigantes of Carolina are in the bottom of the standings with a 0-4 mark and zero points.

 The third week of actions gets started on February 8 with four matches.

Caguas plays Juncos, Aibonito meets Ponce, Humacao faces Carolina and Naranjito squares off San Juan.
