Puerto Rican Ángel Pérez MVP in Pinar del Río

 

PINAR DEL RÍO, Cuba, November 12, 2017 - Puerto Rican Ángel Pérez was the Most Valuable Player of the Final Group B NORCECA Qualifying Tournament for the FIVB 2018 Volleyball World Championship, won by his team.

 

Puerto Rico and Cuba sealed the last two tickets to the world event.

 

Daniel Vargas of Mexico, was the top scorer with 54 points, while his teammate Jonathan Martinez won the prize for best blocker, followed by Puerto Rican Román Mannix.

 

The selection of the most outstanding opposite went to the Cuban Miguel David Gutiérrez, while the two best attackers were also local Miguel Ángel López and Puerto Rican Ezequiel Cruz.

 

The others that made up the All Stars resulted in Pedro Rangel (Mexico) in the service and as setter; his brother Jesus Rangel was the best receiver and as a libero; and Josué Rivera (Puerto Rico) the best digger.
