Puerto Rican Teams blank sweep opponents in Fort Lauderdale

FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida, July 20, 2016 – Puerto Rico’s U20 and U18 National Teams opened with victories on Tuesday at the High Performance Championships organized by USA Volleyball.

The U20 Team that will represent Puerto Rico next week at the NORCECA U20 Continental Championship to be held here, defeated USA Youth National Team 1 in straight sets 3-0 (25-16, 26-24, 25-20).

In Wednesday’s actions, the Puerto Ricans will play against Canada who lost in a close match to the Dominican Republic on Tuesday by score of 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-23).

The U18 Team, who will play host to the NORCECA Continental Championship next September, scored a 3-0 (25-13, 25-16, 25-18) victory over Iroquois International in Day One.

On Wednesday they will have two matches against USA A1 White and Florida.
