Puerto Rican beach teams will play in Varadero

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, April 7, 2018 – The Puerto Rican Volleyball Federation have submitted to the High Performance Department of the Olympic Committee the list of four beach volleyball players previously registered in NORCECA who could represent the country in the Central American and Caribbean Games 2018.

The group of athletes was presented by the president of the federation, Dr. Cesar Trabanco and for the beach discipline to be represented in the regional event they must have a good result in the NORCECA stage to take place at the end of April in Varadero, Cuba.

“The Olympic Committee has some requirements to define the participation in the Games, and to be included we must do good job in Cuba and then be evaluated to get the approval to participate”, Trabanco explained.

The training pairs registered to participate are compose by Juan Carlos Ribas, Cristian Encarnación, Daniel Quiñones and Gabriel Rosado in the men’s division and Maria Gonzaalez, Allanis Navas, Eva Torruella and Blanca Torres in the women’s field.

The goups will be working under the coaching of Alexis Feliciando with the assistance or Erick Haddock.

The NORCECA in Cuba will be played from April 27 to 29 with sixteen pairs per gender.
