Puerto Ricans to warm up against UCF

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, June 26, 2018 – The Puerto Rican Women’s Volleyball National Team will play three friendly matches against the University of Central Florida over the weekend.

The matches will be part of the preparation of the Puerto Rican team ahead of the Pan American Cup in Dominican Republic and the Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla, Colombia.

“We are going to combine different players from those who went to Peru and those who are in the island working out,” said coach Javier Gaspar. “Those three matches will allow us to evaluate the players who were not in Peru.”

The matches will be on Friday June 29 and Sunday July 1 at 7:00pm at Sacred Heart University and on Saturday 30 at Antonio Barcelo Coliseum of Toa Baja.

The Florida Central University team played two matches against the University of Puerto Rico at Rio Piedras and will play two other against University of Turabo.

The National Team arrived in Puerto Rico on Monday after participating in the FIVB Challenger Cup 2018 in Lima, Peru where they finished in third place.
