Puerto Rico invite players to training camp

 

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, April 30, 2018 – Women’s National coach Javier Gaspar has invited 16 players to a training camp to start on Tuesday ahead of the NORCECA Challenger Cup to be disputed on May.

 

The national team will have a new training center at University of Sacred Heart in Santurce.

 

The players invited to train in this first phase are Daly Santana, Pilar Marie Victoriá, Shara Venegas, Valeria León, Raymariely Santos, Noami Santos Lamb, Alba Hernández, Ana Sofía Jusino, Jennifer Nogueras, Ashley Vázquez, Shirley Ferrer, Jennifer Quesada, Jenselyn Morales, Diaan Reyes, Genesis Collazo and Legna Hernández.

 

Other players will join the training camp after the Challenger.

 

Puerto Rico will compete in the NORCECA Challenger Cup to be held in Edmonton, Canada.

 

The Puerto Ricans will play in the same pool with Cuba and Costa Rica while the other pool includes the teams of Guatemala, Trinidad & Tobago and host Canada.

 

Gaspar will be assisted by a technical staff that consist of Abdell Otero, Gamalier Santiago, Vimarys Cruz and Patricio Chutney.
