Puerto Rico keeps unbeaten record

 

   

WLOCLAWEK, Poland, June 10, 2016 - Puerto Rico claimed their fourth consecutive win in this year's FIVB World Grand Prix, defeating Kenya in straight sets (25-11, 25-20, 25-22) in the first game of Group 2D tournament in Włocławek.

 

Karina Ocasio scored the most points in the match (10), however it was her teammate Stephanie Enright (9), who caught the eye of the organizers and was awarded the Most Impressive Player title in this match.

 

“We are very happy we gained three points and now we are getting closer to our goal, which is qualifying to the final four,” Puerto Rico’s captain Yarimar Rosa said.

 

Group 3 Results

 

In Chiclayo, Peru, Croatia beat Cuba 3-0 (25-13, 25-15, 25-13) on the back of some superior service and a game-high 19 points from Samanta Fabris.

 

In Cali, hosts Colombia ended their losing streak by beating Mexico 3-0 (25-19, 25-10, 25-18) in the World Grand Prix, with Kenny Moreno scoring a game-high 17 points to serve Mexico their third successive loss.
