Quesada and Peña off on the right foot at Ocho Ríos

OCHO RIOS, Jamaica, June 23, 2017 – Cubans Daisel Quesada and Karell Peña, winners of the first two competitions of the year in the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit started off on their right foot at the Ocho Rios Tournament on Friday.

Quesada and Peña, who claimed the golds medals in La Paz, Mexico and Cayman Islands, won their two matches of day one in Pool B where Miles Evans and William Kolinske of United States-A also won in their two outings.

Skylar del Sol and Jon Mesko of United States-B and Aaron Nusbaum and Josh Binstock of Canada-A also present 2-0 records after the conclusion of the opening day.

In Pool B, Quesada/Peña first defeated Kemoroy Percival and Rancinto Jeffers of St Kitts and Nevis 2-0 (21-13, 21-8) and then outplayed Sergei Grabovsky and Liam Kopp of Canada-B 2-0 (21-14, 21-18).

Evans and Kolinske won 2-1 (21-10, 15-21, 15-12) over Grabovsky/Kopp and then crushed Percival/Jeffers 2-0 (21-7, 21-5).

In Pool A, Nusbaum/Binstock began their day by defeating Mark Lewis and Patrico Grant of Jamaica-A 2-0 (21-18, 21-12) and then won against Bryan Monge and Richard Smith of Costa Rica 2-0 (21-15, 21-13).

In Pool C, Del Sol and Mesko outdueled Josué Gaxiola and José Rubio of Mexico 2-1 (11-21, 21-12, 15-12) and capped their day with a cruising victory 2-0 (21-15, 21-13) over Noley Ferguson and Rojey Hutchinson of Jamaica-B.
