Ross and Dalhausser are USA Beach Players of the Year

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado, December 14, 2016 – April Ross and Phil Dalhausser were named Female and Male Beach Volleyball Players of the Year by USA Volleyball.

It is the fourth consecutive and sixth overall award for Ross, who won the bronze medal at the Olympic Games with partner Kerri Walsh Jennings.

This past season Ross was voted Best Server on the FIVB World Tour and claimed five gold medals including three straights in China, Cincinnati and Russia.

For the sixth time in his career, Dalhausser has been voted to receive the award.The three-time Olympian finished fifth at the 2016 Olympic Games with partner Nick Lucena.

In 2016, Dalhausser was voted Best Setter on the FIVB World Tour and finished ranked second in the Tour ranking.

Dalhausser, with Lucena, played in 12 FIVB tournaments during the year and won gold at four of those. Nine of the finishes during the season saw the pair reach the podium.
