San Ignacio and ABA win Junior Class in Puerto Rico
TOA BAJA, Puerto Rico, November 16, 2018 – San Ignacio College
of Rio Piedras concluded a perfect season by winning the Male
Junior title of the School National Championship in Puerto Rico.
San Ignacio defeated Bayamon Military Academy 2-0 (25-16, 25-20)
behind Franco Roark elected the Most Valuable Player of the
final.
The team finished the season with a 36-0 mark, making history in
this category.
In the Junior Female class, Arecibo Baseball Academy won their
second title in three years after defeating Academia Discípulos
de Cristo. The scores were 25-15, 25-13 ABA had won the 2016
edition of the event held in Bayamón.
The “challenge” system was utilized in this match to add a
historic touch to this edition of the championship since it is
the first time is used in a competition of athletas 12 and 13
years-old.
