School Volleyball course successfully

close in Dominican Republic

 

   

SAN JUAN DE LA MAGUANA, Dominican Republic, March 21, 2015 – Sixty physical education school teachers from the south western region of the Dominican Republic received their certificates of approval after participating in the International Course of School Volleyball organized by the FIVB/NORCECA Regional Development Center.

The course was under the direction of long-time coach and FIVB Instructor Gilberto Herrera of Cuba assisted by Vicente Paniagua, member of the Dominican Republic Physical Education National Institute.

Nelson Ramirez, director of the FIVB/NORCECA Regional Development Center in the Dominican Republic congratulated the national institute for the initiative of promoting the training of the school teachers in the basic fundamentals of volleyball.

“The school teachers are the first contact our children have with the practice of sports so it is important to have a solid foundation and we will continue with the organization of these courses within the different countries members of our confederation,” Ramirez said at the closing ceremony.

Ramirez also expressed his gratitude to the FIVB and NORCECA for their “much appreciated support in the logistic and organization of the course.”

Herrera presented the certificates to the participants accompanied by the local authorities of the municipality of San Juan de la Maguana and the Dominican Republic National Federation.
