FIVB President opens World Congress Workshop
Anaheim, USA, September 18, 2012 – The FIVB President Jizhong
Wei opened the FIVB Congress Workshop at the Disneyland Hotel on
Tuesday by encouraging the participants to continue their
excellent communication with the FIVB and their respective
confederations.
“Today’s seminar is a kind of exchange of view, dialogue,”
President Wei said. “We didn’t invite any external experts to
give you a lesson; we invited a lot of national federations to
give you their experiences, how to run a national federation,
how the national federations cooperate inside a zonal
association etc.
“After the last congress seminar, a lot of federations became
active. Not only listened but put key points into action. A
perfect example of this was the beach volleyball Continental Cup
where more than 150 federations participated. I remember
Mauritius qualified for the Games. This is a positive result of
our seminar.
“I sincerely hope after today’s seminar, all the national
federations become more active with participation and
organisation. We will work together to make FIVB stronger and
stronger.
The total number of participants in the seminar is 157
participants from 126 countries. There are a total of 144
category 1 and 11 federations.
