Successful celebration of Mexican Federation Cup

 

QUERETARO, Mexico, October 25, 2014 - The Mexican Federation Cup was celebrated succesfully after the championships won by the Nuevo Leon University Tigers in Men’s and the Baja California State squad in Women’s Competition.

 

The tournament celebrated at the University of Queretaro and at the General Arteaga Auditorium was also a qualifier to the Mexican Volleyball League, that will have new teams for the 2015 season.

 

Nuevo Leon University Tigers beat the Volley Rocks of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) 3-0 (25-16, 26-24, 25-17) to get the Gold Medal. Meanwhile in Women’s finals Baja California State won against the National University (UNAM)  Pumas 3-0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-14).

 

The new teams that will make their debut in 2015 are the two Baja California State representatives, after winning the Women’s Championship as well as the bronze medal in Men’s Competition. Bronze medal in women’s was won by Mexico State’s Marabuntas team.

 

The Mexican League began with their first season by the end of 2013 and finished in March 2014, when Cedrus Hidalgo conquered the first place, followed by URN Chihuahua and the Colima Cocoteras in Women.

 

Cedrus also won the Gold Medal in the 2014 League while the Nuevo Leon Tigers finished with silver and Mexico City Falcons finished third.
