Teams qualified to Veracruz are announced

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, January 9, 2014 – The eight volleyball teams per gender qualified to the XXII Central American and Caribbean Games of Veracruz, Mexico from November 10-30 were announced on Thursday during the second and last day of the NORCECA Sport Organizing Commission.

Besides hosts Mexico, the men’s teams to compete are: Bahamas, Colombia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Trinidad & Tobago and Venezuela.

The women’s teams qualified to compete in the quadrennial regional event are: Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Trinidad & Tobago, Venezuela and hosts Mexico.

The Sport Organizing Commission also announced the complete schedule of all the competitions scheduled for the year, including the regional competitions of CAZOVA, ECVA and AFECAVOL sub-zones.

The schedule includes also the volleyball and beach volleyball competitions corresponding to the XXII Central American and Caribbean Games to be held in Veracruz, Mexico from November 10-30.

Also representatives from the 2015 Toronto Pan American Games made a presentation of the stage of the organization and the sites for the competitions.
