Teams tied at 1-1 in Puerto Rican League semifinals

 

   

 SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, April 21, 2015 – Both best-of-seven semifinal series of the Puerto Rican Women’s Superior Volleyball League are red-hot with teams tied with 1-1 win-loss record after two days of actions.

 

Caguas pulled a 3-1 (27-25, 25-21, 18-25, 25-18) victory playing as visitors in Ponce with Karina Ocasio and Regan Hood leading the way each with 18 points and Lynda Morales and Stephanie Enright contributing 15 and 12 points, respectively.

 

Kelsey Robinson had a match-high 24 points in the loss while Legna Hernandez added 15 and Harley Eckerman chipped in with 10 tallies.

 

The third contest of the series is scheduled on Tuesday night at Hector Sola Bezares Coliseum in Caguas.

 

In Monday’s action, Juncos defeated Mayaguez 3-1 (25-23, 23-25, 25-17, 25-23) to even their series that now moves to Mayaguez for the third match on Wednesday.

 

Yarimar Rosa and Liz McMahon led Juncos with 26 and 24 points, respectively. Kim Willoughby had 22 in the losing effort while Sarai Alvarez finished with 12.
