Thirty-four Dominican Phys-Ed Teachers took part in course

 

SANTIAGO, Dominican Republic, May 13, 2014 – The Volleyball Course for Physical Education Teachers of the northern region of the Dominican Republic concluded on Monday.

 

A total of 34 teachers passed their exams and received their certificates at the end of the course.

 

The course was organized by the Physical Education Institute of the Dominican Republic in collaboration with the FIVB/NORCECA Regional Development Center located in Santo Domingo.

 

Nelson Ramirez, director of the center and Osiris Sosa, regional vice director of the INEFI, attended to the closing ceremony along with Jose Aybar, president of the Volleyball Association of Santiago.

 

The course was coordinated by Dominican coach Vicente Paniagua with Cuban Gilberto Herrera as FIVB Instructor.

 

“This is a very important course for the development of youngsters with talent for the practice of volleyball at the school level,” Ramirez said. “The physical education teachers are the first who are in contact with the talented kids and they can contribute to generate in them the interest for the sport.”

 

Sosa thanked the personnel from the center for their dedication and enthusiasm during the course and also was grateful to the directors of the Sacred Heart College where the event took place.
