Three contenders, one champion in St Martin

MARIGOT, St. Martin, August 27, 2016 - The British Virgin Islands, St. Maarten and host French St. Martin will contend for the sole right to advance to the second round of the ECVA World Championship Qualifiers.

With only three teams participating, there is little margin for error.  The tournament brings together two neighbours who will be eager for victory and bragging rights. The British Virgin Islands will be shooting to upset the apple cart, as they have designs on advancing to the second round.

Mr. Raymond Jacobs, President of the Dutch St. Maarten Volleyball Association is confident his team will do well, once they execute what they have practiced.

According to Thierry Stephen of French St. Martin, his team should overcome any obstacles they may encounter.  However, caution will be exhibited when playing the British Virgin Islands as they are still relatively unknown.

Ebullient manager of the BVI, Kisheba Sprauve is rather optimistic about the team’s chances of advancing.  She indicated her team will be pulling out all the stops to ensure victory.

Will the Phoenix rise?  Will the lantern lady guide team BVI to victory? Or will the ever confident Dutch team stop all doubters and reclaim island dominance?  All these questions will be answered, when the teams clash in the ECVA Men’s Group C World Championship qualifiers.
