Tijuana is ready to host Children’s Volleyball Fest

Tijuana, Mexico, December 17, 2016 - The Children's Volleyball Fest was officially announced on Friday at the FIVB – Norceca Regional Development Centre.

The announcement was made in front of journalists of National TV Networks, Newspapers and Agencies, as well as in front of young volleyball players of the Baja California State Sports Talent Programme and National Age Group team members.

Among them there was Christian Aranda, captain of Mexico’s Men’s U23 National Team as well as the National Junior Beach Volleyball coach, Eduardo Murguia, who directed the Mexican couple of Miguel Sarabia and Raymond Stephens that finished in fifth place at the U21 Men’s World Championship in Cyprus.

Also as part of the FIVB Instructors who attended to this announcement, there were Puerto Rican Juan Cartagena as well as Cuban Argelio Hernandez. 

“This is the essence of development. We have to think about it not now, but in 10 or 15 years from now. This is the reason why we are here and work hard,” said instructor Hernandez, who is also directing the Mini Volleyball Regional Seminar last phase in Tijuana.

“We have been working with some coaches in this course and it is pretty motivating to host this kind of activities because they fill us up with a lot of hope and passion to work in all positive, scientific and methodological aspects,” He added.

On behalf of the FIVB First Executive Vice President and Norceca Confederation President, Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, the Confederation First Executive Vice President and Baja California Sports and Physical Culture Institute Director, Saul Castro Verdugo, remarked how important is the area of development and the organisation strategies of activities like this.

Also the Development Centre Operations Director and FIVB Finance Commission member, Alberto Arreola was present along with the Baja California Sports Institute Physical Culture Institute, Carlos King also attended.

Activities will begin at 8:30 with a warm up session directed by the local Physical Activation Program Promoters. Organisers will have a
