Turks and Caicos held U-17 tournament

TURKS AND CAICOS, April 16, 2013 – The National Volleyball Federation of Turks and Caicos Islands successfully organized its First Annual Under-17 Volleyball Tournament that concluded during last weekend.

The teams of Clement Howell High School took the top honors at the double-gender competition.

During the award and closing ceremony, Dorn Fulford, president of the Turks and Caicos Volleyball Federation, commented about the development plan of the organization.

“We have started our grassroots programs within the schools in order to promote the sport of volleyball among the young people,” Fulford said. “This tournament is a good way to go.”

The national federation has scheduled another age-group tournament at the end of the school period next June, Fulford said.
