Twelve men’s teams to play NORCECA Championship in Colorado

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, June 10, 2017 – Twelve men’s teams will participate in the NORCECA Continental Championship to be held in Colorado Springs, United States from September 24 to October 2.

Five berths to the 2018 FIVB World Championship in Bulgaria and Italy will be up-for-grabs at the competition.

The participating teams are hosts United States, Canada, Costa Rica, Cuba, Mexico, Puerto Rico, the top two qualified teams from the tournaments of ECVA and CAZOVA plus Guatemala and Dominican Republic who qualified from the tournament held in AFECAVOL.

It was also announced that the women’s continental championship will consist of three tournaments to be held in Dominican Republic, Canada and Trinidad & Tobago where the top two ranked teams will earn tickets to the FIVB Women’s World Championship in Japan.

The event in Vancouver, Canada will have the teams from the hosts, Cuba, Nicaragua and the top teams from ECVA from September 26 to October 1.

The one in Trinidad & Tobago will have Mexico, Costa Rica, the second ranked team from ECVA and the hosts from October 4 to 9.

The Dominican Republic will host Puerto Rico, Guatemala and the top ranked team from the CAZOVA event from October 11 to 16.
