Twenty courses and seminars to be held in 2013

 

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, February 22, 2013 – Twenty courses and seminars have been programmed this year by the FIVB Regional Development Center in Dominican Republic.

 

Nelson Ramirez, director of the center, presented a report of the activities in 2012 and the projection for 2013 during the Development Commission meeting held on Friday at NORCECA headquarters in Santo Domingo.

 

The activities of the center extended to several countries of the region in order to offer an easier access to the potential participants.

 

In addition to four events held in the center at Santo Domingo in 2012, the High Performance Center in Tijuana, Mexico hosted three courses. Others courses took place in Trinidad & Tobago, Costa Rica, Saint Lucia, Antigua & Barbuda and Jamaica.

 

A total of 257 participants attended the courses and seminars of Development, Liberos, Setters, Data Volley, Beach Referees, Indoor Referees, Middle Blockers and Coaches Level I and II.

 

Instructors Juan Cartagena of Puerto Rico and Joao Moraes Campos of Brazil made reports about their activities in the zones of CAZOVA and ECVA respectively.

 

It was also reported that eleven FIVB Volleyball Cooperation Program (VCP) courses took place in the NORCECA region with three of them held in Haiti.

 

Marta Centeno de Sajche, Mushtaque Mohammed and Glenn Quinlan, presidents of AFECAVOL, CAZOVA and ECVA attended the meeting.
