U23 Women’s Pan American Cup Opening Ceremony in Aguascalientes

AGUASCALIENTES, Mexico, August 11 2021.- The Opening Ceremony of the fifth U23 Women’s Pan American Cup was held at the Olympic Gymnasium of Aguascalentes with the attendance of the seven participating teams.

 

The event offers four tickets to the first edition of the Junior Pan American Games to be held in Cali, Colombia from November 25 to December 5.

 

Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago enjoyed the ceremony that started with a parade of banners with the names of the participating countries and the honors to the Mexican National Flag.

 

Attending the ceremony were representatives of the Governor of the State of Aguascalientes Martín Orozco Sandoval, as well as the Director of the Sports Institute of the State of Aguascalientes (IDEA), Manuel Aceves Rubio, accompanied by Cristóbal Marte Hoffiz President of the NORCECA Volleyball Confederation and Jesús Perales Navarro President of the Mexican Volleyball Federation who gave the welcoming words to the participating teams.

 

Cristóbal Marte in his opening words that thanks to the wonderful organizing skills of Aguascalientes in other international volleyball events during the past years, NORCECA is considering Aguascalientes as host of the Women’s Senior Pan American Cup for next year.

 

Mexican libero Joseline Landeros Palacio was in charge of the official swearing of the athletes and Manuel Aceves Rubio, declared the event inaugurated not before giving words of gratitude for the support from NORCECA and the Mexican Volleyball Federation for bringing the event to Aguascalientes.

 

The ceremony closed with the presentation of the dance school of the Cultural Institute of Aguascalientes.
