USA defeats Netherlands to start third week

CUIABA, Brazil, July 20, 2017 – In a thrilling four-set match, USA upset the Netherlands 3-1 (25-15, 23-25, 28-26, 25-21) to begin the third and last preliminary round of the FIVB World Grand Prix.

With 23 points, USA’s Michelle Bartsch-Hackley was the main contributor of the game, followed by teammate Tetori Dixon who added 20 points in the victory, including six blocks and three aces.

USA dominated all the scoring categories, 60-48 in attacks, 13-9 in blocks and 10-7 in aces.

Anne Buijs and Yvon Belien were the best for Netherlands with 16 and 13 points, respectively.
