USA even mark to 4-4 with victory over Germany

CANNES, France, June 15, 2019 – The United States defeated Germany 3-1 (25-22, 21-25, 25-19 25-20) as the FIVB Men’s Volleyball Nations League continued its third round of actions on Saturday.

Despite the 52-51 margin in attacks in favor of the German side, the Americans held advantages in blocks (9-4) aces (7-4) and unforced errors (26-29).

Torey Defalco led the winners with 18 points, followed by Kyle Ensing, Taylor Averill and Dave Smith with 12, 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Daniel Malescha and Richert Moritz were the best scorers for the defeated side with 15 and 12, respectively, while Anton Brehme and Ruben Schott added 11 and 10.

USA are now in sixth place with 4-4 while Germany fell to 2-6 with one more match to play in the third round.
